SAGL PT Schemes - How it works

How it works

About Our PT Schemes

The SAGL offers laboratories a practical and reliable proficiency testing programme to help verify the accuracy and consistency of analytical results. Covering key areas such as grain grading and quality, the scheme supports laboratories across the entire agricultural and food value chain.

Participation in a SAGL PT Scheme forms an integral part of a laboratory’s quality assurance system. It enables laboratories to assess their analytical performance through inter-laboratory comparisons, identify opportunities for improvement, and demonstrate technical competence. By taking part in the scheme, laboratories gain independent, high-quality performance data that supports continuous improvement, strengthens confidence in test results, and contributes to compliance with recognised quality management and accreditation requirements.
