The Maize Meal Quality proficiency test was introduced by the SAGL at the request of the Maize Milling industry to provide an independent evaluation of their testing capabilities.

Participation in maize meal quality proficiency testing ensures accurate and reliable results, strengthens food safety and compliance, and builds confidence in product quality through continuous performance benchmarking and improvement.

Laboratories, food producers, millers, and regulatory bodies involved in maize meal production and testing will all benefit from participation in this scheme.
